- Make sure your file is not over 10mb.
Most e-mail servers will not deliver or receive files over this size.
- If your file(s) exceeds the 10mb limit, consider splitting it up
into separate files, or turn it into a ZIP file.
WinZip (for Windows) is a very good application for this purpose.
The basic application costs $29.95 and has a free trial period.
Another good ZIP application is
ZipGenius (for Windows), and it is free to download.
Mac users can use
Stuffit and it has a free trial period.
- If you have questions about how your file can or will be printed,
add them to your e-mail as well as a way for us to contact you with the answers.
- Some standard things to know about files for print are:
- If your piece is to be printed on our offset press, make sure you
know what PMS (Pantone®) colors they are to printed in. If you do not know, we
will be happy to help you with this. If you have more than one PMS color
in your piece, make sure your file (EPS, AI, PDF, InDesign/Quark) is built with
these colors to allow for color separation.
- If your file has a "bleed" (the printed color goes off the edge
of the paper) make sure your file is at least a .125" (1/8") larger
than the final piece will be. The piece will be printed on larger
paper, and cut to size.
- Files with text created in Adobe Photoshop
will come out fuzzy and pixilated. Text should be created in a vector or a
print layout program such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign or Quark.
